My TCM Treatment Story~

TCM stands for Traditional Chinese Medicine.
It includes herbal therapy, from the traditional brewing of herbs, to the current powder form of herbs that I take (just mix the prescribed powder herbs with warm water), to the use of acupuncture, moxibustion (I'll talk more about this in another post) etc.

I've been seeing TCM doctor since 2007, always the recommended doctor by someone who claimed that the doctor is really good.

The medicine ranged from ready made medicine, to prescribed medication.

The diagnosis I receive are usually:
- The womb is cold/ chilled
- Bad blood circulation
- Weak "Chi" & "Blood"

Symptoms are usually:
- Cold feeling at the womb area
- Hand and feet always cold, and feels cold very easily (even in aircon room)
- Out of breath easily
- Giddy easily
- And of course the monthly super pain + clots

After changing 4 doctors, I was really disheartened, and was looking at websites in China and Taiwan, for experienced doctors and even was prepared to fly there for treatment.

In 2014, my husband got to know the name of a reputable TCM doctor, attached to a reputable TCM clinic in Singapore.
I researched the few doctors in the same clinic, and saw there is a visiting physician from a reputable hospital in China, and she would visit Singapore every 3 weeks and stay here for 1 week.
From the reviews I read, she was experienced in Adeno and there were really good reviews.

So I went to her monthly, and saw her for over 1 year.
Apart from the mixed herbal powder prescription, I was told to brew this really HORRIBLE herb daily to drink twice a day.
This herbal concoction is so smelly, I felt as if I was brewing a witch brew.
And even the staff who packed the herbs for me commented "this prescription seems to be very awful to take in".
Anyway, the main purpose of her prescription was to reduce the Endo, and swelling.

After the 9 months of stimulated menopause (after my 2nd operation), right 1 week before my menses, my leg started swelling to the size of an elephant leg.
I had the shock of my life, and was told by Gyn that it's due to the swelling of the uterus and the only option I had was to go through hysterectomy to get rid of the root of the problem.
My TCM doctor was still in China, and the next day, I sought the help of the TCM doctor that my husband initially wanted me to see.

She did acupuncture for me, and VIOLA the elephant leg was gone the next day.
From then on, I've been seeing her since, for close to 1 year now.

From 2014, I started seeing another Gyn for alternative treatment options (I'm not ready for hysterectomy and want to have a baby).
I shared the treatment from the Gyn with my TCM doctor, and she adjusts her prescription each time according to my body condition and the treatment I received.

So far, with the western treatment (which I will share separately) + TCM, I think my condition improved tremendously.

From looking 5 months pregnant, now I don't mense (except when there is a lapse in the injection timing), no pain (even during the injection lapse when mense did happen, the pain was bearable and not excruciating),  and now with the exercise, I think I look the slimmest in years...

There is still hope at the end of the tunnel, though the tunnel is dark and long, but if you are not ready for hysterectomy, don't give up hope!
